Hi, I’m William Nagelvoort, a senior at West Ottawa High School and a multi-sport athlete with a lifelong connection to golf and a steadily growing record of competitive success.

I first picked up a toy golf club at just 21 months old, and while I spent much of my early athletic life playing spring baseball and competing as a hockey goaltender, golf has always held a special place in my heart.  Over time, it became clear that golf was more than a game to me—it was where I felt most focused, most challenged, and most at home.  In recent years, it’s become my primary athletic pursuit.

Although I’ve only played competitive golf for three full years, I’ve been a varsity team member all four years of high school.  As a sophomore, I earned OK Red All-Conference honors, and as a junior, I finished second overall in the conference standings.

​

One of my proudest moments came at the 2025 regional tournament, where I earned the final individual qualifying spot for the Michigan State D1 Championship after a four-hole playoff.  At states, I opened with a 76 on day one, then followed with a 69 on day two—tied for the lowest round of the day—and finished 8th overall.  

​

I began competing in local junior tournaments in the summer of 2024, gaining valuable experience and developing my game through both strong finishes and growth opportunities.  A recent highlight was placing third in a Meijer Callaway Junior Golf event in May, which qualified me for the Notah Begay III National Championship qualifier this July in Indiana.

​

Off the course, I am a dedicated student with a 3.4 GPA.  I’ve taken several Advanced Placement courses and continue to push myself academically with a challenging senior-year schedule.  Balancing academics and athletics has helped me develop strong time management skills, discipline, and a focused work ethic.

​

Currently, I train under PGA professional Jimmy Wisinski, with an emphasis on technical refinement, course strategy, and mental preparation.  I’m fully committed to continuous improvement and excited about the opportunity to compete at the collegiate level.
